+5. Europe opened down.
Asian bourses were mostly down. Nikkei
-488, ShanghaiC -15, Hangseng -217. STI closed -8 at 3073. Volume
was 2.2b shares. Gainers were 189 to 264 losers.

-0.2, KLW +0.1, Memstar +0.2.
Market opened down but closed off its
day low losing only 8 pts. The low was 3060. Blue chips were mostly
lower. Penny and speculatives were firmer. Olam resumed trading with a
conditional takeover by Temasek at $2.23. Generally market was steady.
Europe has opened down but Dow's future
is turning green.
