Daily Summary 19 Jan 15

Europe and Dow closed strongly up on Friday. Dow +191 at 17512.  Dow's is still on a downtrend but first gain after a week of falls.   Dow's future is now -48.  Europe opened positive.

Asian bourses were moving in opposite directions.  Nikkei -150, ShanghaiC -260, Hangseng -365. STI closed +6 at 3306.  Volume was 1.4b shares.  Gainers were 202 to 269 losers.

Trend of STI is still slipping down slightly.

Top volumes were SIIC  -0.6, IHC  +0.5, OLS unchanged, ResourcesPrima +0.2, Memstar -0.1, GoldenAgri +0.5, Digiland unchanged, Midas -1.5, ThaiBev +0.5. Noble +1.

With Europe and Dow closing up STI opened up as well but fell back quickly to stay relatively flat for the morning. It started to slip to the red in mid after but managed to recover to close slightly positive.  Blue chips were mostly green. Penny and speculatives were weaker.

Europe opened up but Dow's future is down at the moment.
