Europe were slightly down on Friday. Dow was closed for Independence Day. European bourses opened sharply down following the big falls in Asian market.
Asian bourses fell sharply except for ShanghaiC that closed +89 after the Chinese govt's intervention to stabilise the market. Nikkei -428, Hangseng -828.
STI closed -9 at 3334. Volume was 1.5b shares. Gainers were 135 to 330 losers.
Trend of STI slips down again.
Top volumes were Ezra +1.2, IHC -0.5, SIIC -2, Noble -3.5, Debao -0.3, Albedo +0.1, LH unchanged, Genting -0.5, BengKuang unchanged.
Market opened down and stayed down for the whole session. It closed off its low with some covering in late afternoon. Blue chips were weaker.gainer to loser ration was 1:3. The market is holding much better than regional bourses that took a beating.
Europe and Dow's future are down at the moment.
