European bourses closed down last night. Dow was +669 closing at 24203.
Dow's weakness in the last two weeks is halted for the moment. Dow's
future at this moment is +101. European bourses opened firmly up.
Asian bourses closed mostly higher. Nikkei +498, ShanghaiC +33, Hangseng
+242. STI closed +27 at 3439. Volume was 1.2b shares. Gainers were 201
to 152 losers.
STI is seeing a first uptick after two weeks of falls.
Top volumes were Rowsley +0.2, Genting -1, NicoSteel unchanged, HPHTrust
-0.5, MarcoPoloMarine -0.1, Cosco unchanged, AlliedTech -0.1, Valuetronics
+14, Jiutian +0.1, SingTel +3.
STI opened up and stayed up till closing for lunch. After lunch it
continued to stay positive hovering about +10 points. It then made a short
climb in the last hour to close near day high at +27.
Blue chips were mostly higher. The general market was firmer.
